About the ARLAC Library
The ARLAC Library is among the leading resource centres for information on the world of work, covering information on work issues, sustainable livelihoods, and the work related aspects of economic and social development and human rights.

The ARLAC Information Centre is responsible for keeping member countries informed of developments within the labour administration system and relaying region specific information from governments and social partners. The Information centre also serves as a resource centre for ARLAC staff and guest resource persons.

Information CentreThe Information Centre helps to bridge the digital divide at a practical and local level by providing users with free rapid Internet access to online information. This online access policy contributes to local development by helping to promote knowledge and encourage computer literacy and is instrumental in promoting the concepts of global partnership and information for all. Proactive management of knowledge and information ensures that users have the most appropriate and relevant tools to meet their information needs and that they know how to use them.

The Information Centre builds capacity by sharing technical support and expertise with librarians and institutions in the constituents. This support includes helping to establish library databases for cataloguing books and publications, setting up a library cyberspace, the use of the Internet for searching and downloading information, and the use of online databases.

ARLAC Library Collection
The Library’s collection includes books, journals, reports, legislation and statistics covering all issues in the world of work in ARLAC member countries and around the world. The Library also houses a significant amount of ILO publications in print and electronic form.
